Russia and China partner to control trackable package flow

2019-12-20 15:00:00

Russian Post and China Post have agreed on the joint development of the cPacket logistics service. With this service, the two postal operators want to control the flow of small traceable packages that will be exchanged between Russia and China.

The joint development is the latest effort of both countries to further develop cross-border ecommerce between Russia and China. The so called cPacket flow will reach Russia via the main logistics channel organized by RP Logistics, which is a subsidiary of Russian Post in China.

According to Retail & Loyalty News, the two postal operators want to create the best possible conditions for fast delivery to Russian buyers and visitors of major online stores, as well as maximum convenience for each online customer. A new aviation logistics scheme and selected routes should ensure the quality of the logistics process.

More effective delivery of cross-border orders

“For several years, we have been successfully working with China, and this area generates the largest volumes of shipments for us”, Russian Post comments. “Cooperation with China Post as part of the cPacket service will allow us to more effectively arrange the delivery of cross-border orders to the end customer, while reducing the cost of services due to the ever-growing volumes.”

For China Post, Russia is the second largest outgoing route. The two countries have agreed to strengthen the construction of land transport channels between them and improve the quality of information exchange and services. In 2016, an agreement was signed for a Russian transport corridor that better connects China and Western Europe.
